M.Sc. Botany – Master of Science in Botany

It is a two-year programme, divided into four semesters which trains students to find lucrative opportunities in both the private and public sector by giving through practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of Botany. The botany degree at Baba Farid Institute of Technology is affiliated to HNB Gharwal Central University.
The study in the branch of botany deals with the overall scientific analysis of the plant life and various other factors involved with it. The botany degree covers a wide range of different scientific topics like algae and fungi including structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, development, diseases, chemical properties and evolutionary relationships among various taxonomic groups. This course also includes a study of classification, distribution, structure, genetics and ecology. Apart from it, the course also focuses on the vegetation in a specific territory, topographical period or natural surroundings. A Master in Botany mostly deals with lab work and research. The selection of course in the postgraduate degree mostly depends on the field, and the institute one chooses. However few subjects which are related or are fundamental in the course structure include plant environment, plant systematics, formative plant life structures, plant physiology, plant mycology and similar morphology of vascular plants.
Through the M.Sc. botany course at BFIT, we make our students get trained to become intellectual and proficient botanists. Under this course, we enhance students abilities and skills in the application of botany theories and teach them to attain expertise in the life problems which are faced by the industry. We train our students to study plant life along with finding solutions to issues related to plants in various areas, regions or overall in general. And as botanists deal with space travel agriculture, artificial environments, hydroponics and different other interesting areas of research, we make sure that our masters in botany students have both in-depth knowledge and hands-on training about every concept or the topic.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content”][vc_column width=”1/3″]
ELIGIBILITY
- The candidate ought to be passed the Bachelors examination from any recognized University or its identical examination and secured at least 50% marks (45% in the event of SC/ ST candidates).
- Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for the qualifying examination, i.e. B.Sc. or equivalent but whose results have not been declared yet, can also opt for the admission.
